Logo Design

Your logo is the center of your company's identity. Everywhere you look these days, logos are integrated into the minds of society. What makes consumers wear name brand clothing, desire a certain type of car, or join a specific group? More than likely it's a recognition of value or desirability in the logo or marketing that influences our choices.

A logo can be designed to your specifications or we can help you create something totally unique. Typically, logos are designed in your colors and represent the "feel" of your organization. Do you like your organization to come across as "fun" or "serious"? Should it be bright and spirited or more subdued? We work with our clients to develop logos that are recognizable, scalable, unique and representative of your business or organization.

Website Design

You need a presence on the Internet. Companies with websites offer potential customers information and sales 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Nonprofits with websites can accept donations at 11:59 pm on December 31st. Whether you are involved in retail sales, information dissemination or both, a website is the way to reach a large audience and get the results you need. With the advent of specific online marketing, you can even reach a certain demographic or region of the country without the hassle and cost of yellow page advertising. Plus you can change or add to the information on your website when you please.

Our designers can help you with all aspects of your design:

  • Do you need a new design or a facelift on an existing one?
  • Is your website consistent with the branding in your ads, business cards, stationery and other printed materials?
  • Are the formats and styles used on your site easy to read? Do they offer enough contrast and size options for people with visual disabilities such as color blindness?

Studies show that, once a visitor comes to your website, you have 10 seconds to convince them to stay. If they don't like what they see or the site takes too long to load, most visitors will go try another site... probably that of your competition. Is your website ready?

Information Architecture

Efficient and well-planned navigation is an essential component to keeping users on your site. Navigation includes the placement, priority, and usability of the menus and links throughout the website. Using the analogy of a grocery store, navigation is the sign above each aisle that describes what you may will down in that section. If the signs are hard to read, hard to find, or don't properly describe the contents of the aisle, you will probably become frustrated and be less likely to return to that store in the future.

If you already have a website, ask yourself these questions:

  • Is your top-level navigation only those items that people need the most?
  • Are the sections of your site interlinked to avoid unnecessary movement from page-to-page?
  • Can users on your website find what they need easily and quickly?
  • Is your content divided into bite-size chunks for easy reading on the screen?

We'll work with you to design navigation for your site to help users find information the information they need quickly and efficiently.

Website Development

Website Development involves taking your design and your navigation and turning them into a fully-functional, working website. This may include:

  • Placement of content
  • Addition of features such as a shopping cart, blog or membership directory
  • Implemention of an online payment system
  • Testing: Link integrity, Accessibility for users with disabilities, Ease of use

If you represent a government entity, is your site Section 508 compliant? If not, how about compliance with WAI Standards? Making sure your site is accessible is not just good policy - it's essential to reaching your audience. Did you know that a study by Microsoft in 2004 showed:

  • Approximately one in four (25%) computer users have a visual difficulty or impairment.
  • Nearly one in four (24%) computer users have a dexterity difficulty or impairment.
  • One in five (20%) computer users have a hearing difficulty or impairment.
