Making Sustainability Irresistible

Sustainability is all about change. Encouraging people to think and act in ways that support the social, economic, environmental and cultural changes that will enable us to live in a way that supports life. This requires provoking changes in values and behaviors that have become reliable habits. Patterns of consumption, eating, every day practices become opportunities for re-thinking and re-choosing actions that provide a broad ripple of impact.

Beyond Transformation Lies Sustainability

Bauback Yeganeh & Ante Glavas,(2008) in their article, Green Organizational Development, summarized Green OD as, “OD work that focuses on organizations seeking to change core practices so that they benefit our society and environment while also adding value to the organization.” This statement describes my experiences over the last few years working as an internal OD practitioner in a company that decided to become Green. In this short piece, I would like to share my reflections on the role of internal OD in supporting sustainability.
