2008 Nominees

Andrew Bennett

While spending ten years in management I became fascinated with human behavior in an organizational context. My transition from management to OD began through Total Quality Management, where I was lucky enough to study statistics under W. Edwards Deming. For the last 15 years I've been studying and practicing Organization Development. I started the OD consulting practice for EDGE Learning Institute; managed my private consulting practice, Bennett Performance Group, for eight years; and have spent the last three years as a managing consultant with EDS. I've worked with organizations of all shapes and sizes, in about every industry, around the world.

I would like to join the board simply because I wish to serve communities that I care about. I will be completing a six year term with Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley in March 2009 which will open space in my life to serve the ODN. My experience serving on the Habitat Board has prepared me to be an effective board member - offering advice on strategic direction, financial management, and stakeholder involvement. I believe our profession can provide crucial guidance in today's world and I want to play a role in enabling our influence to become stronger.

Leslie Cady

"I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back." - Maya Angelou

The Organization Development Network has played an important part in my professional life by providing mentors, support, and a place to practice and apply my learning about change. I want to serve on the Board of Trustees so that I can provide this support to future practitioners and organizational leaders.

Uniquely qualified to be a strong contributor, I am currently an external consultant to libraries. I have 23 years experience as an internal consultant including OD, system change, human system programs, training, and education, and am an AU/NTL Masters Degree Program graduate. My experience comes from a variety of industries, in corporate, government, and not-for-profit settings. Regionally, I served on the Greater Boston OD Network Steering Committee from 1991-1993.

As a Board member I will promote the organizations fiscal effectiveness; demonstrate the OD Networks values; continue its legacy of providing a values-based home for OD practitioners, and lead the Network's efforts to promote the effective and ethical practice of organization development.
